Dr Fishcher advocates for universal cystoscopy as he states that “With today’s increased scrutiny on the cost of health care, cost effectiveness also needs to be considered. Universal cystoscopy has been shown to be cost-effective when the rate of ureteral injury exceeds 1.5% for abdominal hysterectomy and 2% for vaginal and laparoscopic hysterectomies.”
